Three days in a row with short distances to paddle left me with energy to spare, which was a good thing today. Last week’s adrenalin is still helping me swing the paddle. The results are that I paddled over 38 miles today. We went through one lock and found the lake area above it to be a bit challenging. We had a bit of headwind early this morning, but the river made a big bend and a cool breeze took over for a while. Unfortunately, that didn’t last and it got hot fast. I used a lot of sunscreen today. The wind stayed at our backs most of the afternoon.
Our campsite tonight is ten miles downstream from Lock #2.
The waters at the confluence with St. Croix River reminded me of Florida. I really must paddle her someday. Just beautiful!
Yes, we made a pit stop
for a cold Coke and
delicious ice cream!!!
