2019 Florida Trail and National Scenic Trail:
In 2019 Dale hiked the second leg of the Eastern Continental Trail (ECT), from Key West Florida to the Appalachian Trail (AT) southern terminus at Springer Mt. Georgia. He has now hiked, after turning 82, every step between Key West Florida and Mt. Katahdin in Maine. Three age records, no one else has accomplished, sandwiched in there. Plans were for 2020 and again in 2021 to hike the Canadian portion of the International Appalachian Trail (IAT) roughly 1,500 miles to Northern Newfoundland. As luck would have it, Covid, caused the Canadian government, for both hiking seasons, to closure its border with the USA.
