Day 14 - Palisade to Aitkin

Paddled out Earlier  than rest of the crew at 0810 am. When I reached camp at 4:20 pm, I had managed to paddle almost 31 miles. Paddling alone made it easy to shoot several videos and some good still images. I especially like the sounds of the Swallows video.

More erosion issues with what appears thousands of beautiful tree sliding off into the water. I suppose it is just a ressut of the natural process of the ever changing course of the Mighty Mississippi.

Stopped by a beautiful display of antiques, an entire complex right on the river. The owner and his wife were on the support crew when Billy X. Curmano swam the Mississippi.

So far no rain. But I am hunkered away in the tent awaiting it's arrival.

nks for sharing the article, and more importantly, your personal experience of mindfully using our emotions as data about our inner state and knowing when it’s better to de-escalate by taking a time out are great tools. Appreciate you reading and sharing your story since I can certainly relate and I think others can to
